Six common reasons for miscommunication while working

Miscommunication at work can be a huge drawback that can reduce the production of the organisation. Communication if not performed properly can have a destructive effect on the organisation. Miscommunication can lead to a wide number of complications in the organisation (peoplehum, 2021). There have been six reasons which can lead to miscommunication in an organisation which are discussed below:

1. Assuming hastily

Assuming in a hastily way can be a major problem when it comes to communication. The employees are required to listen with proper attention to the advice or order they are being provided with (Fabian, 2018).

2. Not listening actively

Being lost in other thoughts can also lead to miscommunication which can hamper productivity at work. Listening actively and paying attention to detail is the key to working constructively (Stubbe, 2017).

3. Improper leadership

The leaders are also required to communicate with the employees frequently so that they do not work according to their own choices and desires. Proper leadership traits can have a huge impact on communication and develop the organisation (Sebok-Syer et al., 2017).

4. Internal communication being poor

The hesitant employees often lead to miscommunication. Hence, they need to be trained so that they can communicate properly. This can help the organisation to reduce poor internal communication (peoplehum, 2021).

5. Low motivation and participation of employees

Hesitant employees and those who have low levels of motivation are the major cause of miscommunication. These employees are demotivated as sometimes they are left unrecognised however, they possess abilities and skills (Thymé-Gobbel and Jankowski, 2021).

6. Being out of the topic

While communication being in the topic is the most important. Conversing out of the topic leads to procrastination which leads to a reduction of the productivity of the employees. This leads to the organisation being unable to perform best.
